Meet Tutor Kim Carver
Kim Carver’s story of success started here at HCC. From GED
student to honor student to award recipient to employee, she has done it all.
Today she is one of the best tutors HCC has ever had.
She began her career in Learning Support Services in 2009, but
was a part of our team long before that as a student tutor, where she was
recognized as Tutor of the Year.
What makes Kim such a great tutor is that she knows what it is
like to be a student, to struggle, and to overcome obstacles. Essentially, she
understands through experience exactly what it takes to be successful as a
student. All of this hard work does not make Kim dull. Just the opposite,
she loves to be creative and have fun, but above all, she loves to help
students.
At home, she enjoys anything creative, like researching family
history, making jewelry, and spending time with her family. She is nearing
completion of her bachelor’s degree in art history from UNC-Asheville, and she
plans to start graduate school in the fall. Her specialty is, of course,
history, but also computer skills, writing for history, study skills, and math.
Come meet Kim and take advantage of our services today to learn more.
